All-on-4™ Implants Thailand - Frequently Asked Questions
How much does All-on-4™ cost?
Prices for the All-on-4™ technique in Thailand starts at 300,000 Thai Baht for one arch. This is significantly less than in the USA, Australia etc. Prices for a single arch restoration in the USA or Australia can reach $25,000 per arch. The cost of full mouth restoration for dental implants and new teeth in the USA and Australia can easily exceed $50,000.
What is a dental implant?
A dental implant is made of three parts; the titanium implant that is placed in the upper or lower jawbone, the abutment that fits over the top of the implant, and the crown or new teeth that fits over the abutment. Once placed, the titanium implant fuses to the bone in a process called ‘osseointegration.’ The first dental implant was placed 30 years ago. Since then dentists have treated over one million dental implant patients.
What is All on 4™
All on 4™ is a dental implant system that uses 4 Dental Implants placed in the upper and/or lower jaw. The dental implants are placed in strategic areas of the jaw where there is more available jaw bone often eliminating the need for costly and time consuming bone grafting, sinus lifting treatments. Once in place, replacement teeth (new set of teeth) is fastened to the 4 implants with special implant tools and screws. Once securely in place only a trained implant dentist can remove the new set of teeth.
What is the difference between All-on-4 and All-on-6?
All-on-6, like All-on-4 is an immediate loading implant system, that means the the implant dentist can attach the replacement teeth to the implants in 10 to 14 days. Every case is different and some people may need up to 6 implants to support the replacement teeth in the upper jaw. The upper jaw often needs additional implant support. The lower jaw only needs 4 implants in the majority of cases. Some dentists also refer to All-on-6 as "All-on-4 Plus." The implant dentist will evaluate an OPG x-ray or CT Scan to determine how many implants are needed for optimal support of the replacement teeth.
Why All on 4™ dental implants?
All on 4™ Implants with new teeth look and feel similar to natural teeth. Implants for conventional denture replacement means no more slipping, clicking and adhesives associated with dentures. All-on-4™ implants function like natural teeth allowing patients to eat and taste the foods they like again. This all leads to increased self confidence and a more active lifestyle.
What type of replacement teeth is used with All-on-4 Dental Implants?
The implant dentist attaches fixed metal reinforced acrylic teeth on the dental implants in the cost of All-on-4 Dental Implants. It may be possible to upgrade to a porcelain bridge after the 6 months implant healing period. Porcelain bridges are quoted separately.
Why does All-on-4 with replacement teeth take 10 to 14 days and a porcelain bridge take 6 months to complete?
Acrylic teeth is easier on the implants during the implant healing phase and can be placed in 10 to 14 days. Porcelain (ceramic) is a very hard material, and attaching porcelain restorations to newly placed implants puts too much pressure on the implants, leading to implant failure. Implants must heal to the jawbone for 4 to 6 months before a porcelain bridge can be placed on the implants.
Are there the risks associated with dental implants?
With dental implant treatments, there is an increased risk of the implant not successfully integrating to the bone for people who smoke, have diabetes, or are on bisphosphonate therapy. (source: Nobel Biocare)
Why do All on 4™ Implants cost so much less in Thailand?
North America, the UK, Australia, Europe and Japan are the most expensive regions for cosmetic, implant and restorative dentistry due to a higher cost of labor, higher business costs, and more layers of administration than in Thailand. All of these costs are carried over to the patient.
How much time is needed for the All on 4™ implant procedure?
The dentists in the Smile Planners network will need to review an OPG dental x-ray or CT Scan in order to determine the procedure time. For ideal candidates with good oral health the All-on-4 treatment can be completed in 10 to 14 days.
How long do the All on 4™ implants and new teeth last?
The Implants are designed to last a lifetime and replacement teeth are made of highly durable materials and are designed to last several years under normal conditions.
What can I expect during and after the All on 4™ implant procedure?

You may also experience swelling and bruising following the procedure, your dentist may prescribe medication for any discomfort.
